Chocolate Box

Here is a tutorial for the cutest chocolate box that conveniently holds four Ghirardelli chocolates (mmmmmmm....my favorites - dark, of course). This was shown at Split Coast Stampers and here are the instructions that were posted...

Ghirardelli® Box by Beate Johns

Supplies

One 4 1/4" x 8" piece of cardstock
One 2" x 8 1/4" piece of patterned paper, optional
Paper Cutter
Scoring Tool, Scor-Pal™ used here
Sticky Strip
Scissors
Dimensionals
Stamps
Ink
Additional Cardstock

Step-by-Step

Step 1
Score the short side of your cardstock strip at 1" and 3 1/4".Hint:When using the Scor-Pal™ score at 1", then turn paper 180 degrees and score the other side at 1" again.

Step 2
Score your long side at 2", 3", 5" and 6".

Step 3
Cut off the outer strips 3" up on one end. This will create your box flap.

Step 4
Use a bone folder to crease score lines.

Step 5
Cut the 1" score lines on both sides.

Step 6
Add Sticky Strip both 1" x 2" strips next to the box flap.

Step 7
Flip your cardstock over and add tape to the 1" tabs.

Step 8
Remove the tape liner from the 1" tabs and fold inward.

Remove the liner from the 2" strips and bring sides together to form box.

Step 9
Trim box flap. Here, it was cut down 7/8".

Your box is done. It's time to decorate it.

Step 10
Apply adhesive to the back of the patterned paper.

Step 11
Adhere patterned paper around your box.Note:The ends of the paper will overlap a bit.

Step 12
Create a closure for the box by stamping or punching a small image. Add dimensional on the lower part of the back of that image.

Step 13
Remove liner and adhere the punched piece to the lower part of your box so that the lid can slipped underneath.Fill with chocolate.

Your box is finished.

More Valentine's Day Treats

This is one of my favorites to make - the classic Starbucks bottle. This is so versatile...you make these for birthday, thank you, welcome, sorry, etc. Although I didn't fill my jar yet, you can fill these with many things...m&m's (my favorite), nuts, other little candies, paper clips, buttons, etc. There really are endless possibilities.

Valentine's Treats

Valentine's Day is approaching (as Target has been telling us since Christmas Eve!!! They actually had Valentine's Day candy/treats on display on Christmas Eve...I couldn't believe it!!). Anyways, this is a treat box that I made at a class last year and then replicated 30 times for my son's preschool class. It's so cute that I thought I might replicate it again this year. Not sure yet, maybe something very similar.

Stamp Set- Happy Heart Day

Paper- Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White, watercolor paper

Ink- StazOn Black

Miscellaneous- Watercolor pencils, Red Gingham ribbon, Basic Black Colored Button, Crimper, box of sweethearts (I bought mine at WalMart)

Soooo excited!!

I just got home from a long day and found my Spring Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog in the mailbox - FINALLY!!! I think mine got lost in the mail. And, I'm still crossing my fingers that I receive my customer catalog order before Monday evening - yikes!! If not, I guess we'll all be crowded around this one copy! Hee hee.

So, I'm on my way to bed, put on the Young & the Restless, and carefully flip through every page of this catalog with a pen in hand to write down my wish list :)

Happy Birthday to Chrissy...I feel like her birthday is neverending - Ha! We celebrated all weekend in Vegas, but today is the actual 4-0. So, today I had my eyes dialated at the eye doctor for my bi-yearly exam (I have a cateract that they need to keep an "eye" on) and I didn't have a chance to make Chrissy a card. I know, how lame am I? I couldn't see all day! Well, I think I'll give her one of birthday cards we made in class last week...

My Bad...

I just got back from a long weekend in Vegas. We went for Chrissy's 40th birthday and had an absolute blast! Although, the craps tables did not treat us well, we still had a lot of fun! But, now, it's back to reality and back to stamping!

I'm very upset because I have not received the new catalogs yet. I think every demonstrator got theirs except me!!! But, I'm totally to blame. I had ordered catalog samplers to be sent to all of my customers instead of the actual catalog...DUH!! I can't believe I did this. So, I'm hoping I receive them by Monday because this is our first stamp club meeting and how lame would I be if I didn't have our new catalog!!! We shall see. But...you can always check out the new catalog on my website!

Last Thursday night, I had my monthly stamp class. Here are samples of the cards we made. Everyone loved the cards and had a good time. It was nice to get stamping with all of the girls again.

Sneak Peak, Part II

My favorite part of the new catalog is seeing all the new designer series paper. Demonstrators were able to purchase two new kinds of DSP - Rasberry Tart and Jackpot. The Jackpot paper looks fun and correlates with a new gaming stamp set. Below, you see a little bit of the Rasberry Tart DSP. Coordinating colors are Real Red, Rose Red, Cameo Coral, Pretty in Pink, and Kiwi Kiss.

This is a new stamp set called Petal Pizzazz. By the way, one more week until the new catalog comes out - Yeah! Can't wait. I made this card for a swap I participated in this month. I can't wait to get all of the swaps back...exciting!

Sneak Peak

Yay - I was able to download my pictures (although, my mouse isn't fixed yet), but that's ok. The new catalog is coming out January 19th, but the privelede of being a demonstrator is that we get to buy stamp sets early so we can show them off to you! It's a very exciting time. The cash I received from my in-laws for Christmas is going straight to the new catalog - heehee.

Here's a card from a new stamp set called Goody Goody Gumdrops. I created this for a swap that I'm in for the new catalog. This is a level 3 hostess set, so everyone has a chance to earn this set for being a hostess. The one type of card that is handy to have around is a wedding/anniversary card. It seems that I never have one when I need one, so I decided to make one with this set...

Grrrrr...

I'm so frustrated!! So, I FINALLY got a new camera for Christmas - yeah!! I hope you can see the difference in the last couple of posts. Well, yesterday my cordless mouse decided to crash so I had to plug in another mouse. The substitute mouse is using the USB plug in and that's the same plug in I need to download my photos for today's post!!! I can't download my pictures without my mouse, right? So, I've got nothing for you :( I will have my husband figure out my mouse problem tomorrow so I can download some pictures.

You're gonna want to see these next couple of posts because I'm giving you a little sneak peak of new stamp sets in the Spring Summer Idea Book!

2009 Calendars

Here are the 2009 calendars I made for friends and family this Christmas. The front and back pieces are 4"x4" coasters and the actual calendar pages are card stock cut into 4"x4" pieces. I just coordinated the season with the colors, papers and stamps I used for each month. Very simple but a little time consuming. Everyone was really excited to get these!

Good News, Bad News

Good news first...I'm so excited to announce that the new Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog will be debuting on January 19th. I cannot wait to check it out. While this is so exciting, it is time to say good-bye to some of our favorites. Stamp sets and accessories are being discontinued to make room for all of the new stuff.

Happy New Year!

Wow! It's been quite a while since I've been in the blogging world. I have been busy busy busy with the holidays and decided to put the blog on the back burner but now I'm ready to stamp and blog. Although, I have been stamping all holiday long, just not showing it off. I made 10 calendars to hand out to family members, lots of gift bags and coordinating tissue paper, and those super cute gift card holders. But, now it's all over now and back to reality :(
