Happy Birthday Mom!!

It was my mom's birthday last week and I made her a few things. At this point, it's so hard to shop for her, so I thought a few blank cards would be great...who can't use blank cards at any given moment??


Here's the finished product...I was able to fit six cards total (three on each side).

The holder is made from one piece of designer series paper (or any 12x12 piece of paper). I saw this "tutorial" on Splitcoast Stampers (there really wasn't an actual tutorial, just a couple of basic instruction).

This entire project was made with the Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper from sale-a-bration. I also used Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, and Sahara Sand cardstock. I also used 5/8" So Saffron and Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon.

By the way, she LOVED it!!

Cute Little Easter Basket

These are the cutest little Easter baskets! We made these last month in my stamp club and all the girls LOVED them. Thanks to my adopted upline, Rhonda, I got a quick tutorial from her and fell in love! They're incredibly easy to make...gotta love the big shot! And, I do :)

1. What you need is to cut four scallop envelopes from your big shot.

2. Take all four and lay them in a row in front of you

3. Trim off the right side flap from each envelope

4. Use sticky tape on each left hand flap and attach it to the envelope to the left (you'll start with the second envelope in so the very first envelope tab is not attached to anything).

5. Now you'll have a row of envelopes. Fold each one in to form your box and now you'll be able to attach the last left tab. Fold in the bottom tabs like you're closing a cardboard box.

6. I used an 11" strip by 1 7/8" strip for the handle and punched it with the eyelet border punch.














7. Decorate the sides and fold down and glue dot the flaps.














8. Use flowers to hide the strap on the sides.













Now you have the cutest ever Easter basket! These would make super cute party favors or little treat boxes for your loved ones.

Spring is in the Air

It's been so nice out lately...love it! That only means one thing, that soon it will be warm enough to swim and I can't wait!

Chocolate Box

Here is a tutorial for the cutest chocolate box that conveniently holds four Ghirardelli chocolates (mmmmmmm....my favorites - dark, of course). This was shown at Split Coast Stampers and here are the instructions that were posted...

Ghirardelli® Box by Beate Johns

Supplies

One 4 1/4" x 8" piece of cardstock
One 2" x 8 1/4" piece of patterned paper, optional
Paper Cutter
Scoring Tool, Scor-Pal™ used here
Sticky Strip
Scissors
Dimensionals
Stamps
Ink
Additional Cardstock

Step-by-Step

Step 1
Score the short side of your cardstock strip at 1" and 3 1/4".Hint:When using the Scor-Pal™ score at 1", then turn paper 180 degrees and score the other side at 1" again.

Step 2
Score your long side at 2", 3", 5" and 6".

Step 3
Cut off the outer strips 3" up on one end. This will create your box flap.

Step 4
Use a bone folder to crease score lines.

Step 5
Cut the 1" score lines on both sides.

Step 6
Add Sticky Strip both 1" x 2" strips next to the box flap.

Step 7
Flip your cardstock over and add tape to the 1" tabs.

Step 8
Remove the tape liner from the 1" tabs and fold inward.

Remove the liner from the 2" strips and bring sides together to form box.

Step 9
Trim box flap. Here, it was cut down 7/8".

Your box is done. It's time to decorate it.

Step 10
Apply adhesive to the back of the patterned paper.

Step 11
Adhere patterned paper around your box.Note:The ends of the paper will overlap a bit.

Step 12
Create a closure for the box by stamping or punching a small image. Add dimensional on the lower part of the back of that image.

Step 13
Remove liner and adhere the punched piece to the lower part of your box so that the lid can slipped underneath.Fill with chocolate.

Your box is finished.

More Valentine's Day Treats

This is one of my favorites to make - the classic Starbucks bottle. This is so versatile...you make these for birthday, thank you, welcome, sorry, etc. Although I didn't fill my jar yet, you can fill these with many things...m&m's (my favorite), nuts, other little candies, paper clips, buttons, etc. There really are endless possibilities.

Valentine's Treats

Valentine's Day is approaching (as Target has been telling us since Christmas Eve!!! They actually had Valentine's Day candy/treats on display on Christmas Eve...I couldn't believe it!!). Anyways, this is a treat box that I made at a class last year and then replicated 30 times for my son's preschool class. It's so cute that I thought I might replicate it again this year. Not sure yet, maybe something very similar.

Soooo excited!!

I just got home from a long day and found my Spring Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog in the mailbox - FINALLY!!! I think mine got lost in the mail. And, I'm still crossing my fingers that I receive my customer catalog order before Monday evening - yikes!! If not, I guess we'll all be crowded around this one copy! Hee hee.

So, I'm on my way to bed, put on the Young & the Restless, and carefully flip through every page of this catalog with a pen in hand to write down my wish list :)
